Paint its grandeur and majesty
Niagara Falls is one of the great wonders of the natural world, and Niagara Falls State Park provides a wealth of opportunities for the plein air painter. This two day intensive workshop will concentrate on the challenges of capturing water in motion, working in outdoor light., and composition. Students may work in any medium, but oil or pastel is recommended.
The $225 fee includes a permit to paint in the park, meals, and hostel-style lodging at a Victorian farmhouse in rural Niagara County.
We’ll paint at four different sites in three-hour sessions, with an hour break for lunch. A detailed itinerary, maps, and a supply list will be sent to registrants.
Two buffet lunches, Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast are included in the fee. Rain shelters will be available if needed. Participants can arrive via Buffalo, Rochester, or Niagara Falls; rental cars are available at all these destinations. Car pooling information will also be made available to students. Other than your workshop fee, your expenses will be limited to your travel costs, parking at Niagara Falls, and gratuities.
“I’ve studied in the studio and outside with Carol. She’s fun and works hard to make it an enjoyable experience. I’ve learned so much from her.”
